Президент США Джо Байден в субботу, 26 марта, провел телефонный разговор с экс-кандидатом в президенты Белоруссии Светланой Тихановской. Об этом сообщаетТАСС со ссылкой на пресс-службу Белого дома.

По данным американской администрации, лидер США поговорил с Тихановской, находясь на борту президентского самолета. Байден поблагодарил ее за присутствие на его сегодняшнем выступлении в Варшаве. «Президент подчеркнул продолжающуюся поддержку со стороны Соединенных Штатов народа Белоруссии в деле защиты и продвижения прав человека, в том числе свободы выражения мнений, а также свободных и честных выборов», — говорится в тексте.

В пятницу, 25 марта, лидер США прибыл в польский город Жешув, который находится менее чем в 100 километрах от границы с Украиной. Там Байден встретился с военными 82-й воздушно-десантной дивизии армии США, затем сел с ними за стол и отведал пиццу. После американский президент встретился со своим польским коллегой Анджеем Дудой. Вместе они провели экстренное мероприятие, главной темой которого стало предоставление Украине гуманитарной помощи.
